LA-GWEP is now LAMS-GWEP

What’s New

Our work is expanding! Known first as LA-GWEP, grant efforts were focused on improving geriatric care in Louisiana. As the grant begins its sixth year, its reach expands into Mississippi and rural areas in both Louisiana and Mississippi.

This means an exciting new partnership with the University of Southern Mississippi, an even longer acronym (LAMS-GWEP) and, most importantly, improved healthcare and wellbeing for older adults in rural areas and in Mississippi!

Vision

Improved healthcare and wellbeing for older adults, persons living with dementia and their caregivers in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.

Goal

Educate and train the primary care and geriatrics workforces and other appropriate specialties to provide age-friendly and dementia-friendly care for older adults in integrated geriatrics and primary care sites.
